It is of some consolation that scientists around the world are doing their best to find a vaccine. I'd like to think they are all working and sharing results in a bid to end this pandemic. Maybe I'm being naïve.
Just don't let people like Martin Shkreli near them.
Related.A judge denied Martin Shkreli’s request to be released early from prison to both avoid catching the coroavirus and to work on a treatment for Covid-19.
I don't wish CV-19 on anyone, but I can't help feeling like there's some kind of poetic justice here.

Maybe this will cheer you up Cutter - Gloucester Massachusetts Osprey Cam. Three chicks being very well taken care of by their parents. I leave it up all day on another monitor while I'm working: https://ecga.org/osprey-cam Note that they turn it off at 6pm EST everyday for some reason, so it might be off for the day by the time you see this.
Though it does get rough sometimes when the fish the male brings in is still alive when they start eating it![]()
On the good side, within a 2-3 weeks these guys will be starting their first flights!

For a covid test to be useful it would probably have to be taken no more than 3 days before a procedure, so I was just wondering if they had changed anything due to current events.RedEye9 wrote on Jul 15, 2020, 12:30:
Reminds me that I gotta put out more TomCat Rodenticide blocks in the shed, under the house, in the chase, storage, and barn.
Blue, does the dentist require a recent COVID-19 screen before digging around in your mouth?
No, but they have extensive precautions. I'm pretty sure they are at the extreme end of best practices for this.

I stuck the 2004 USB in and it ran for 15 minutes downloading updates (shitty internet) and doing its checks before it said nope, "Mickeysoft won't install the latest version of 10" on your new box.. It never got to the "Do you want to save your stuff or nuke it" portion of the install.RedEye9 wrote on Jul 15, 2020, 18:46:Was the old version requirement due to the lack of a recent driver for the NVMe?
UNBELIEVABLE
A dell computer with a manufacturing date of 7/19 would not accept Windows 10 v.2004
and I had to search for an older version.
v.1909 from here https://www.itechtics.com/windows-10-1909/ worked.
This was not some bargain basement pos dell, i5-9400 6c/6t, 8GB DDR4, 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe
Even more unbelievable was that I had to reinstall the OS completely because it was mega corrupted by malware.
And it was running the full paid version of Malwarebytes.
And I had told them that it would be safe with that.
Just goes to show ya that any antivirus and or malware can be undone by a gullible novice at the wheel. (clients wife has a tad bit of dementia)
The lesson I continually re-learn is that it's just as quick to save data and reinstall the OS vs. Running scan after scan and repair after repair when things are really fubared.

That shouldn't be a problem anyway:Small rodents like squirrels, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, chipmunks, rats, and mice) and lagomorphs including rabbits and hares are almost never found to be infected with rabies and have not been known to transmit rabies to humans.

Also, once I was bitten by an abandoned pet rat I was trying to rescue. My doctor told me not to worry about it beyond normal infection risk.

It has been time to kill the penny for a very long time. They should kill paper one dollar bills at the same time. Doing both at the same time is actually useful, the penny slot in cash drawers can be swapped to be for dollar coins. It is such as win the fact it hasn't happened yet is barely short of being criminal...

Hey Cutter, I worked for Lowes and Home Depot and they don't use poisons like that in their stores (at least not here in the US and would assume the same in Canada), they use the boxes that trap them inside due to say for example a mother came in the store carrying a child and set the child on the floor and the floor would eat it scenarios. Also they use 3rd party companies to do this not the stores directly. Next time you go look around on the floor look for the traps. Google Ecolabs Mouse Traps and check the pictures so ya know what to look for. ALSO make sure to scrub the shit out of anything the rodent came in contact with, it may have not been poison that killed him.
