Looking forward to upgrading my 3.5 year old GTX 1080. Maybe an RTX 3070.

There's always something new/potential price drop coming around the corner. I usually just buy I'm building a new system or all the new games I'm trying to play start chugging.

I bought a new graphic card very recently - about 4-5 weeks back. My existing card broke in an HTPC on a 4K TV where we often play games and in HDR if we can. It was an old RX 470 card. I initially thought about waiting to see what the new offerings are, but most news articles pointed to both AMD and nVidia coming out with at least $500-600+ GPUs first. I eventually found a Radeon 5700 for $300, and it's a fantastic card.
Once that performance level is surpassed with good margin at $300-350, I may consider the new option.

Well even after the new stuff drops in a few months it may take another few months to see some pretty noticeable price drops, maybe only after Black Friday/Christmas in January so you may be waiting a while

Either way, new shit is just on the horizon. It would be wise to wait to at least see what it has to offer and at what price. Invariably, the old stuff will drop in price too. Seems logical to me.
