No, I'm saying the idea isn't original, and that the game play and marketing art shares a lot of the symbolism from that passage. That's all. Perhaps the person responsible for naming the product heard or remembered the biblical account and decided to modernize it for the game.

As a side note, this is not the first time a developer used the passage. World of Warcraft: Legion released on 8/30 (2016). The date is a reference to Luke 8:30: "Jesus asked him: "What is your name?" He said: "Legion," for many demons had entered into him."

100% did not know this, thank you for setting the record straight. I bought Bloodborne for a friend and watched him play, and I only saw signs and stuff, never a duel. Was never into dark souls ultra-punishment stuff. If there's a genre that I'll get into that super duper hard it will be mastering an arcade schmup

Dark Souls came out in 2011, WD in 2014, so yeah, that tracks.

Lol yes, but the overall setting and theme seems to be a lot more serious than WD_2, closer to WD_1.

WD_2 was all about the lulz in a bright, beautiful city where your gang of goofy characters reveled in hilarious hijinx. WD:Legion seems far darker in comparison.
