Fallout 76 Season One Next Week

Bethesda announces Season One for Fallout 76 kicks off on Tuesday and will run until mid-September (thanks VG247). They list the rewards that will be available in the sci-fi RPG prequel and offer this overview of what to expect:
From the makers of Unstoppables Shindig, Blast Radius, and Catch the Commie comes The Legendary Run – an exciting new way to experience irradiated West Virginia. The Legendary Run is Fallout 76’s first Season and features a boardgame-inspired theme. As Captain Cosmos, you will race the evil Dr. Zorbo across the galaxy. Your progression through the Season will be represented as pieces on a game board. Can you beat Dr. Zorbo to the finish line? You have until mid-September to find out!

Can I lock out all outsiders and play as if it were a stand alone single player game? I don't want any unknown what so ever that can ruin. If you can do that, I'll consider buying it. Otherwise, Bethesda can go to h*ll...

Tried 76 during a free trial with a friend. It was OK. Co-op was... okay. Not sure how great of a co-op experience it really can be due to the nature of this type of game. Maybe I didn't get far enough along to be able to get a good feel for it. My impression was Co-op Fallout sounds better on paper than in practice.

Yeah, basically Fallout co-op. I didn't get nearly as many hours out of it as I did 4 despite the map supposedly being four times bigger before I removed it from the HD to free up space. I'm waiting for the Brotherhood of Steel update to reinstall it. From this release I can't tell if Season One is of interest to me to want to reinstall presently.

I didn't see jack poop in season one of interest, as you feel BoS and supposedly there is a major server/balance rework being brewed up, those have my interest.

It's also a good co-op game, if both of you ever enjoyed FO games. I really enjoyed my time with it, despite the bugs and lack of polish.

Yeah, it's miles better now but an SP FO game it most certainly is not. As you said though, if you want a new FO fix - and you can get it for $20'ish bux - it'll do the trick. Still, no text chat, chintzy build limitations, lag, etc. are still a major PITA. It's a well designed world to explore however.

I avoided this game like the plague after it's disastrous launch. It never crossed my mind again until I saw a free weekend on Steam a month or two ago. Checked here, and a few players talked me into giving it a shot. (Darks/Cutter)

It's actually a halfway decent game now after the "Wastelanders" update recently, I'd give it a 79/100.

If you're simply bored or need a Fallout fix you should be able to get your money out of it.
