More Misconduct Fallout

A tweet from Insomniac Games says the developer is taking "numerous steps" to address allegations of sexual harassment at the studio: "We were aware of the allegations made in a former employee's tweets today and had taken numerous steps to address them. For legal and privacy reasons we will not respond to individual allegations about specific former employees." There's also a report on Eurogamer.net saying Ashraf Ismail has stepped down from his position at Ubisoft after serving as creative director of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Origins, and the upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla. They note he "was accused of cheating on his wife and lying about his marital status," They quote a few tweets from him including an apology and word he was leaving "to properly deal with the personal issues in my life," but his Twitter account has since been deleted. They also have a statement about this from Ubisoft, who say: "Ashraf Ismail is stepping down from the project to take a leave of absence. The development team is committed to delivering a great game in Assassin's Creed Valhalla." Ubisoft also says they are investigating allegations of sexual assault and harassment against other employees:
We are deeply concerned by these accusations. We take any allegations of abuse or harassment very seriously and we are looking very closely into the allegations to determine next steps.

So everything is the business of the corporation is it? You're fine with them having you under total surveillance 24/7 because it's all their business. And vetting you for a job means looking through the entirety of your private life starting from birth. That sound about right? And any infraction, no matter how small, should be cause for dismissal because you don't want the corporation to lose face, yeah?

You sound like the perfect slave.
Yeah, I never said anything of the sort so don't put words in my mouth or assume you know how I think, and hyperbole of the sort you're using makes an already specious argument even weaker. My response was limited to this scenario and I will repeat he was a fairly visible public figure for a large studio, so yes there are going to be repercussions for his actions, legality aside; if it casts Ubi in a bad light you can be assured they will react towards the person causing said bad light, in this case this fellow.

Isn't the rough numbers 60% of men cheat on their wives and roughly 25% of women have been sexually assaulted in some fashion? If that's the case, I suspect many many many things will show up and get disrupted.

Depends on what political circle is claiming that and why. Fact is there's no way of knowing. What we do know is that the divorce rate is 40%+. And that's not just because of infidelity.

And in the liberal 'anything goes' world of today, isn't wrong to judge someone for not being monogamous in the first place? After all, in nature, fidelity is the exception, not the rule.

Whatever the number is it's a large enough number.

As for infidelity. If it's an open relationship then they're grown adults they can have at it. Otherwise, they do take a vow to be faithful to each other so... From a company's point of view it's an optics thing at that point.

True, I think the "claim" was he helped secure a good review for her game, but Kotaku stated this was untrue. I was just clearing up where people got the idea for all this.

Due to a typo, people thought Zoey slept with a game journalist in March before a review of one of her games came out. It was corrected later by the BF (they were taking a "break" from each other) that it happened in May, after the review.

But Nathan Greyson didn't write a review. So, "after the review" is still fake news. There was no review.
Meanwhile, even if there had been, saying that she had sex for the review is also ridiculous. As if the only reason two people bone is so that one can have a video game reviewed.
