Was disappointed there was no B-Wing either. I smell some DLC coming.
And no TIE Defender either. Another DLC.

Couple of things that bother me (hope they can be turned off). Starlines (debris from the Xwing Series), the vapor trails on the ships, and a Xwing with a beam weapon?
Hmm, who knows. Even so, it wouldn't be a game-wide thing. I think vapor trails are kind of cheaty for a space game tbh.
The one major thing that bums me out really is just the 5v5 thing. I'm trying to wrap my head around why? Maybe they think there won't be enough interest to get servers populated or something. Surely whatever engine that is (frostbyte?) can handle more as it does for Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5.
Anyways here's a list of other craft missing from the old x-wing/tie games or other games/sources/comics/etc.:
Imperials
Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing (Imperial Assault Gunboat)
Missile Boat (successor to the Star Wing)
TIE Avenger or TIE/ad 'Advanced' (improved production version of Vader's X1, flown by Imperial Ace Maarek Stele)
TIE Defender
TIE Phantom (technically dual seater)
TIE Vanguard (Recon)
TIE/sr Starfighter (Recon)
Rebels
B-Wing
BTL-S3 Y-Wing variant (2 seater), top mounted Ion Cannon can rotate in all directions
BTL-A4 Y-Wing LP (recon)
E-Wing
Z-95 Headhunter
R-22 Spearhead (a-wing prototype)
R-41 Starchaser
N-1 Starfighter (if there will be Naboo map)
YT-1300 (support, 2 turrets)
YT-2000 (support, 2 turrets)
YT-2400 (support, 2 turrets)
With only 5v5 they are kinda missing out on making multi-seated craft too, which would pretty cool just being a turret gunner while someone flies like in BFV.

my only concern is that to deliver at the $39 price point EA will be cutting corners with this title... it won't be a full, long game experience to warrant the $59 price, unless they do a ton of DLC and then put out a package later for that price
El Pit wrote on Jun 19, 2020, 08:04:I mean, that's my other problem with the Defender. It's not hard to make a tougher, stronger, faster ship that also has a tractor beam. Anyone can keep scribbling bigger numbers until they're shouting, "I've got lasers plus infinity!" It's just like the Star Wars movies and expanded media constantly one-upping the Super Star Destroyer with dozens of Super Duper Star Destroyers and Ultra Star Destroyers with their own Death Star lasers and interdiction capabilities and what have you.jdreyer wrote on Jun 19, 2020, 05:01:Heresy! A TIE Defender takes down a dozen of these slow as molasses B-Wings - even while the Defender pilot is getting force choked by Vader for not taking down TWO dozens of B's!Orogogus wrote on Jun 18, 2020, 23:25:What, what, WHAAAAT???
I could see a B-Wing DLC, but the TIE Defender is so ugly.

I wonder if you'll be able to manage and transfer energy to shields, weapons etc. Somehow I doubt they'll get that detailed.

VR for that sounds awesome but could probably be the most intense VR game in terms of sickness and headaches lol

Disappointed, no B-Wing Fighter. Oh wait, Alex, Ill take the B-Wing Fighters Micro-transaction for 400 please.
The Half Elf wrote on Jun 18, 2020, 22:24:Maybe in graphics options they can be turned off? Beam weapons appeared in SW: Ep2, so precedence. Glad they're bringing some new weapons to bear. Remember that XWing added concussion missiles, etc.

Can you use this with VR and a controller (not a VR Controller, like Elite Dangerous). It's coming to console, so I'm sure there's controller support, VR or no. Also, you can control E:D with a controller, although HOTAS is best.
What I would like to see. The Battle of Endor and the DeathThat would be awesome. Seems like not at launch though, or it would have been in the trailer.
Star II run.
I'm excited and surprised to see Bioware's name on the project, hopefully they will do better then Athem.Scope seems well-defined and limited, unlike Anthem. They should be fine.
