Microprose Announces Two FPS Games

Recently revived publisher Microprose announces two first-person shooter projects coming from developer Drakeling Labs. One is Operation: Harsh Doorstop, a free community project offering a Cold War shooter devoid of micro-transactions, paid downloadable content, or loot box mechanics. This is coming soon to Steam and you can get a look in this Announcement Teaser. The other is Warfare 1944, a World War II shooter that shares a name with a Flash game we featured in 2009. They say game focused on tactical decision-making will debut on Steam on July 7th. Here's a Warfare 1944 Announcement Teaser and here's more on both games:

Everyone always says that some game looks like it's from 2000, when it's actually pretty good and doing things impossible back then. It's constant hyperbole.
Except here. Man, you nailed it.

What's even going on here? The Microprose name got sold a couple times, right? These look like Eastern Bloc indie games at best; good luck I guess. Operation Harsh Doorstop? Rofl, is that a translation error?

It was sold to a Microprose fanboy who then brought in Wild Bill Stealey, at least in name.
He wants to make military sims that don't require 500 button cockpits. I think he's erred too far, from the looks of these.

Wow. These use UE4. You can buy royalty-free assets for UE4 that look better than these for next to no money.

Maybe a company that closed shop in 1998?
If Russia stops fighting, the war ends. If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine ends. Slava Ukraini!

*Looks over at Falcon 4.0 binder then back at the trailers*
Sorry not seeing anything that makes me think "Microprose is back"

Couple links with pics of the Falcon 4.0 binder/contents -- pretty sure we'll never see these types of games/packages again which is a shame:
