Here's the official announcement of Star Wars: Squadrons, the space combat game revealed this morning. Most of what's in there was covered here already, but it fills in some details and is fleshed out with developer quotes. Expect more on the game during its gameplay reveal on Thursday at 7:00 pm EDT and if you have an epic case of FOMO, you can preorder the game now through this page. Campaigns are usually built around a hero narrative that doesn't really work with 4x other "chosen ones" in your game at the same time. Really don't think that's a big "fuck up" as much as "pretty fucking standard".

And I just noticed that on the pre-order page they're openly advertising it on Steam and EGS and they're doing a global launch on each store on the same day. That's def new. It has absolutely nothing to do with the game itself (good, bad or ugly), but I know some people will get a hard-on for this stuff. I just wish they'd be more honest and next to Steam there was red text saying "We only get 70% of this sale" and next to EGS it said: "We only get 88% of this sale". Also: "You'll still be downloading and launching the game from Origin anyways, so do us both a favour".
