This. That article was written by Dr. Ian Cutress, who is well equipped to discuss this "issue". He says, "The peak voltage, which matters a lot for electromigration, only moves from 1.41 volts to 1.42 volts." This is a non-story. You'll be fine.

I wasn't necessarily worried because my load temps are still only in the high 40s on air cooling. It was more disappointment that Asrock would employ such shenanigans. Not that I expect mobo manufacturers to not pull shenanigans on occasion.
