I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is >probably< HALO '6'. Since Infinite is not meant to be '6', I'd say that they've gotten the story down for Infinite, finished pre-production on '6' and are ready to go ahead with making the game.

As for 'twin stick shooters', I'm not crazy about them but I did play Spartan Assault quite a bit with mouse and keyboard and it worked fine. There's also a little game called 'Alien Shooter' that is pretty good that I play on occasion. I think the game 'Ruiner' is considered one as well and that got good reviews.

Robotron 2084 -- great game. Don't know if WASD and a mouse equates well with twin sticks though. Certainly the action of the game is similar, but since we are talking about the controls...

Oh I thought you literally meant you didn't know Halo had those other games, not that you didn't know what a twin stick shooter is. As mentioned, it's just a top down or isometric (usually) shooter where on console you use both sticks to shoot and aim, and on PC you can use the mouse or mouse and keyboard to do it.

Twin stick shooters are a console genre. You use one stick of the controller to move your character, while the other stick fires. As I didn't grow up playing this style of game, I find it hard to wrap my head around the control scheme. That said, my son and I had a blast playing Renegade Ops split screen on the PC.

Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike are both twin stick shooters released in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
