It's a sign of the times that I'd be more hyped if this were based on Critical Role campaign 1 lore than Baldurs Gate lore.

Also I remain unhyped - since I really didn't like the gameplay demo they showed. So many things that made it not DnD 5e and rather DOS 3.0, nothing wrong with that, but I want DOS 3 more than I want a DOS 3 that looks like Baldurs Gate

This is exactly what I got from the video... glad I'm not alone.

Same here. The demo had DOS all over it. And since it's both a high fantasy setting, they really have to get out of their way to convince me I'm playing a Forgotten Realms game and not another DOS.
Yep, didnt feel like Forgotten Realms/Faerun one bit.

You know its entirely possible that Minsc will be in BG3, as it's apparently set about a hundred years or so after the events of BG2. Minsc and Boo were petrified at one point and placed in the market square of Baldur's Gate - known as The Wide. Over time the statue become known as the Beloved Ranger, until about 70 years after its 'construction' a wild magic surge went off nearby and dispelled the petrification.

Also from the wiki:
This scroll cannot be used to learn the 6th-level wizard spell.
This scroll can be bought in almost every temple throughout the Sword Coast.

Over time the statue become known as the Beloved Ranger, until about 70 years after its 'construction' a wild magic surge went off nearby and dispelled the petrification.

Minsc and Boo have since gone on to have many adventures. They become Heroes of Baldur's Gate - a title bestowed upon great heroes who have stopped calamities within the city - a title he earned by helping to defeat an incursion of werewolves that had stolen several very holy relics in a major temple of the city.

He has since been on many adventures, including taking on (but not defeating) the legendary vampire Strahd von Zarovich. He fought against the cults of elemental evil, defended the city of Frozenshear in the far north from an attack by frost giants, and more. Boo even once accidently drank a potion of growth... for a short time becoming a giant-sized, miniature giant space hampster.

While according to the existing timeline Minsc and Boo are still a statue when BG3 takes place, it's entirely possible they shuffle around a few dates and your hero is directly involved in his.. un-petrification. IDK if he'll be a companion, but I can't imagine a BG game where he doesn't make an appearance.

Hrm, I am without a doubt going to buy Baldur's Gate 3 on GOG, but I am not sure I'll bother watching these teasers/spoilers for the next X months. I am probably going to try to avoid any spoilers or major info about BG3 as much as I can, in fact. Assault the norm!

What? Hotel? And what makes you presume that elves have clean arses to begin with?
