GOG.com Launches Summer Sale and 7 Demos

Summer may still be a few weeks off, but the Summer Sale on GOG.com is underway between now and June 15th. They promise over 3000 deals with discounts up to 95% as well as free demos of seven games. Here's an overview:
We invite you to join us as we explore a huge galaxy of games! The Summer Sale on GOG.COM is here to take you on a journey through the stars, with thousands of cosmic deals and fantastic new DRM-free titles to discover!

Bend the space-time continuum at the speed of light and take an early peek at some upcoming games. Be the first to play free demos of the tactical western Desperados III and action-blazing Destroy All Humans! before both games are released. That’s not all, as we also have brand new playable demos for the re-imagined System Shock and the dreamy Spiritfarer, as well as the upcoming role-playing game Vagrus - The Riven Realms, the reverse horror Carrion, and last but not least, the jRPG-inspired Cris Tales.

To make things even more exciting, we bring you two out-of-this-world, DRM-free releases on GOG.COM. Metro Exodus (-50%) will take you on a hazardous journey through the vast post-apocalyptic wilderness while in Prey (-70%) you'll have to quickly adjust to the hunt-or-be-hunted reality of the Talos I space station.

The Summer Sale on GOG.COM contains over 3000 stellar deals with discounts reaching up to 95% off. Start by shaping the matter of space to your will by building your own publisher bundles and unlocking additional discounts. Biggest force pushing me to GoG is my 11 year old son. He's completely monopolized my Steam account to the point I have to use the backup computer and run Steam in offline mode. I feel like a 3rd class citizen when I have to do that. I'm GoG first here on out.

I made my son get his own Steam account, then did Family Sharing. If I don't want him to play, I just switch to Offline mode, and he's disconnected.

Woot! Just picked up 5 games for under $30. 3 of them repurchases from my Steam library... inching >< closer to dumping Steam!

Speaking of which, has GOG/Steam/Game Publishers stopped doing the Steam connect thing on GOG? Aka if you own it on Steam, some games became available for free on GOG? I probably have over a dozen of those freebies, but it seems like it's been months since that's been offered.

Sweet, I need to buy more games and add to the almost insurmountable queue.

Speaking of Metro Exodus: Played through it on Steam, was not overly impresed with the sheer number of times you get cutscened/lose control/get knocked out and all your gear stolen, etc. The actual game aside from that was pretty good, although I could easily do with a Never Have to Clean Your Weapons mod, easily the most annoying mechanic in any FPS game. Shoot your gun 4 times? It's covered in mud. Enjoy.

I'm playing through BGEE and eventually BG2EE now, and... wow. Beamdog actually did an excellent job on updating these, I'm more impressed with their engine/model work the more I play the games. I wish I could reposition the dialogue boxes and horizontal menu but aside from that, excellent job, Beamdog. Ideally I'll finish BG2EE before BG3 arrives.
