I wish review sites did analysis with more CPU intense titles like flight or racing simulators, plus VR benches. Those titles really challenge a CPU with real-time calculations that directly impact the users experience. From what I've seen, Intel is dominating in those gaming situations.

The 3900X has been selling for ~$410 bucks for about three months on AMZN, now.

These new Intel CPUs, while the power consumption is embarrassing, still easily beats AMD in gaming. I really hope Ryzen 4000 does a little better in this regard, their 3700X is an excellent value I hope the 4700X delivers.

Easily beat AMD? At least it was worth an afternoon chuckle. CPUs no longer are the apex of gaming, the GPU has taken over that role. Having a slightly faster CPU is not going to do much in many games. Yes the Intel CPU is a shade faster, but inordinately more expensive as you need an expensive cooler and lots of fans in the case to run it. I guess if you want to heat your house with your gaming computer there might be some benefit there.

As to Elon, he is still a visionary. As we are finding out those fools completely shutting down their states are only doing a good job of destroying their economies. As we see in Sweden, a total shutdown was not needed. Protecting the elderly was the serious issue here and the total shutdown actually made that worse. Hopefully everyone will learn from this mess because there will be a next time. Getting rid of clueless politicians on both sides of the aisle will be a first step, but my premonition is that people will not learn.

Personally I'm GPU bound anyway at 1440p/4k depending on which monitor I choose to game on so the 3900x is more than enough. But it would certainly help them with bragging rights and PR for sure. There are some rumors of 10-17% improvements but who knows, there were a lot of false rumors surrounding Zen 2.
