Yeah, I've posted here before that Venus is probably a better option. You can build floating stations 30 miles above the surface, and the temps are around 20-30 deg C, perfect temp for humans even if the atmosphere isn't. Also, Venus has a Van Allen belt which protects against radiation. Venus is also closer. And Venus' gravity is basically the same as Earth, whereas Mars has much less gravity.
