Out of the Blue

Happy Earth Day 2020, which marks the 50th anniversary of the occasion. As I've mentioned a couple of times in the past, my elementary school principal used to rue the fact that every day isn't Earth Day. He was kind of a dick in general, but those wise words will always stick with me.

Here's a second reminder that the Blue's News 2020 NFL Draft Pool (password "draft") is underway for tomorrow's NFL draft. This is just for fun and involves trying to predict the first 10 picks in the draft, so feel free to join in.

Do we know what replaced the SR71?

The USAF's latest toy.
Think how much more payload you can have when you don't have to provide life support for meatbags.

The video mentions plans for an actual SR-72. Unmanned and hypersonic.

I’ve watched one or two videos on the blackbird in my day and the moment I heard the voice I thought I’d seen it already.
Whelp, turns out I hadn’t as it appeared on the utubes 4 days ago “DOH.”
Guess I’ll also watch this one.

EDIT
OMFG
That was one of the best SR-71 videos I have ever watched. Biggrin

Ah, I think you mean 50th

I was in high school on the first Earth Day

Indeed, that was a typo -- thanks for catching it!

Probably the first Earth Day worth the name since then too.

With the capitalist meat grinder / waste pooper / carbon spewer slowed down, Gaïa, for the first time in decades, is breathing a welcome sigh of relief.

I still remember from years ago on Mythbusters that they showed bullets being shot into liquid lose virtually all momentum the moment they strike the liquid surface - they were showing shooting into a pool like in the movies. So that totally makes sense. I guess it would make perfect sense too for all male combat soldiers to get breast implants too as an additional line of defense. Honk Honk!
