A
Tabletop Playground Beta is now available
on Steam, offering the chance to check out this new installment in this
genre pioneered by
Tabletop
Simulator between now and (at least) May 3rd. This is for Windows, includes
VR support, and allows you to play classic tabletop games as well as new ones
created by the community. The beta has support for their game editor, and users
who upload their own creations will be entered into a drawing for free game
codes for the release version. Here's the game's
Teaser Trailer and
here are more details:
We've received a mass of requests for an open beta
in recent weeks, in large part due to so many gamers being stuck at home due to
COVID-19. We're excited for more people to check out the game and be able to
help out even in a small way, by letting people around the world play tabletop
games online together for free, when they need it most.
Players can enjoy a suite of classic games, such as Chess, checkers,
cards, etc, and dozens of games already created by our community as part of our
closed beta Creator's Program. We've been running the program since the end of
last year in collaboration with mod.io, which will be our cross platform modding
solution for Tabletop Playground.
We're excited to see how players utilise the in-game editor and the games they
create over the next few weeks. Players who do upload any creations during the
open beta period, will go in the running for final release codes for the game
and their
friends!
