Out of the Blue

We got our first delivery of some groceries from BJs this weekend. The cleaning supplies we ordered were out-of-stock by the time the order was fulfilled, which was our main goal. But the good news is we found some Lysol in the local grocery and I filled a couple of spray bottles with it, so we're a little better-equipped to try and keep things we bring into the house sanitary. The weird thing about the small amount of groceries we got in our delivery is they included a case of Stove Top Stuffing, which we most definitely did not order. I alerted the driver to this as he got back in his car, but there seemed to be a language barrier and there was nothing I could say to convince him to take it back as he rushed off like he was escaping a bank robbery. They didn't charge us for it, so I guess we have some real bottom-of-the-barrel provisions to fall back on.

They have a state supreme court seat in play. Old people are eligible for mail-in absentee ballots, and are a Republican voting bloc. In Wisconsin, other people have to prove they deserve one. So making sure old people are over-represented while urban voters aren't counted helps Republicans get that state court seat.

so now they're literally putting party over the lives of fellow americans. goddamn that should be criminal.

Finally saw something on it. Apparently at first the GOP tried to move the election of the justice to a separate date. Presumably because if it was on the same date as an active Democratic primary, too many Ds would show up. But they weren't able to do that. Milwaukee has reduced polling places from 180 to 5 due to volunteers saying they wouldn't show up to run them. And since urban areas are more affected by the virus and tend to be more Democratic, this is the next best thing for the GOP. Hooray for politics!

good shit for when you're looking for something a little classier than a ham sandwich, but still easy to make. basically boil the correct amount of water and butter, then stir it in. done.

i like to spruce it up a little by browning some onions/broccoli/ham or chicken before adding the water.

Pretty sure that's been the case for many centuries. The only thing unique to the current situation is the level of it demonstrated by the US president.

Shouldn't you be playing Beat Saber to Beat It by MJ? Looks like a good way to get some exercise.

I just got a nice new 2" thick gym mat myself for my home workouts. Gonna' grab some boxing equipment too - heavy bag and a boxing reflex ball. Those things are fantastic. Not only are they an amazing workout but they really up hand eye co-ordination and that sort of exercise - like juggling - creates new neuroplasticity in the brain, so particularly good to do as you head into your golden years.
