Listing for Sea of Thieves, saying Rare's buccaneering
action/adventure will go on sail there "soon." Both the minimum and recommended
system specifications call for Windows 10, so it doesn't appear this aspect of
the game will change. However
this post does explain that those who pick this up on Steam will be able to
share the adventure with their mateys who play on Xbox One and the Windows Store
version:

Microsoft Store on Windows 10... It's a travesty. They package up full-size games like they're mobile apps, including blocking access to the actual files on your disk. I refuse to buy anything from there, so it's convenient for me that they're relinquishing all of their 'exclusives' after some time.
It's so goddamn awful. It's functionally worse than Epic Games' Store, and that's saying something. Very glad stuff is moving off it now.

I never liked this game. Sadly I can no longer enjoy games without progression besides cosmetics. I want to haul treasure not for cosmetics, but for pew pew.

Yeah! Such a weird but amazing game. Good family game with the crossplay with Xbox, other than the getting murdered by MKB pros but that just encourages you to outsail them. Not even sure whats going on any more, I think I prefered the silent desolation punctuated by nautical murderfests of the launch game but it's still something I don't get anywhere else, I'm glad they stuck to their guns and didn't make it yet another progressionfest. Though there is room for a game like that all the competitors seem to be floundering. Reminds me of Elite a little in that way. It's the one game my daughter actually seems to want to play with me these days.
