Bethesda announces DOOM Eternal surpassed
the previous franchise record for opening weekend sales,
reports VG247. They say sales figures weren't provided, but the publisher
says the new installment in id's shooter series doubled the launch revenue of
Doom 2016.
All in all I was pretty disappointed. There was a bit too much tomb raidery jumping puzzles, and looking for buttons with no clear direction instead of non stop combat like the old ones to me. Just felt a little over board. That plus the lack of deathmatch and their slayer vs monsters that feels more like it should be a side game mode then their only MP game mode just felt kind of bleh, like they just forgot what made doom doom and tried to reinvent it or something I don't know. I preferred the 2016 one much better myself.
