Out of the Blue

I was mistaken about our virtual party being yesterday, it is actually this evening. This means we got to watch the season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was a great. We also got to catch up with both season three Westworlds as we hadn't yet viewed last week's. I'm glad I got to see them both at once, since episode one was confusing enough that it was good to follow with one that was easier to, well, follow. It was also good to see the new one immediately, as it had a fun Easter egg, and my news feed filled with headlines to spoil it immediately after the show aired. It's not that big a deal, but it was more fun to see it go by unexpectedly. Finally, happy National Puppy Day, though I think this should be International Puppy Day. What could bring the whole world together better than puppies?

Damn! Prez, I hope you will be better soon and there will be no longtime problems because of the stroke. Good luck, Prez, and get well soon.

The Billion-Euro Nuclear Reactor That Was Never Switched On.

Huh, a billion is cheap. These days estimates are $8-10B for a new reactor.

Yes, but the US has 6 times the population. And NYC has over double the population of Rome. So what does that actually mean based on population per capita?

And the US has a quarter the population of China. Which means we REALLY fucked up. Trump diddled while the US burned.

As others have said, I hope you have a swift and complete recovery. Best wishes to you and your loved ones. That said, the fact you have posted about it tells us it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. So there is that... hang in there.

Holy shit, are you alright, man?! Are/were you aware of something bad happening?

My neurologist suspects I had a transient ischemic attack several years back when all this shit happened to me but she said she couldn't be certain. Stroke scares the hell out of me infinitely more than a heart attack.

Such a shitty time for it too with hospitals worried about getting over whelmed. You definitely do not want to be near a hospital right now if you can help it. Are you seeing a neurologist? Scheduled for some MRIs or MRAs? Keep us aprised, Prez. Hope you can bounce back fast!

Since all the restaurants are closed, Uber eats is offering “free” delivery service. So I started an order from an Indian joint, got to the end, and saw a 15% service fee on top of them wanting a 15% tip for the driver (newsflash: delivery drivers aren’t waiters). Quickly ended that experiment. Indian joints around here are already stupidly expensive, which is why I started making my own masala.

Restaurants besides Chipotle and its ilk are seriously fucked from this.

That is weird, the bars/restaurants usually take a 5-15% hit in the cost to the delivery places so the prices don't change for the consumer. Then, tips are suggested but can be changed. I wonder if they changed the platform.

Sad if they are doing that.
