Wolcen Fixing to Slow

A post on Steam has new version 1.0.10.0 patch notes for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem outlining the latest fixes for the action/RPG. This includes a status report on the team indicating the COVID-19 pandemic will force a slowdown to WOLCEN Studio's recently announced plans for an improved "second dawn" for the game. On the bright side, they also announce a Wolcen stream with Diablo co-creator David Brevik will take place on March 22nd on the Geeks WorldWide channel on Twitch. Here's word:
Before sharing the patch notes with you, we want to communicate about the present situation in France and what it means for Wolcen in the next few weeks and give you some news about our team. First of all: everyone is fine!

But starting today at 12.00 CET, all travels in France are now forbidden except under exceptional circumstances or mandatory reasons.

We've already taken measures to protect Wolcen employees and ensure that most of our team members can work from home, but that's not possible for everyone. Since we don't want any of our employees to be put at risk, they will be staying home for an unknown duration.

We're still committed to providing you the best experience possible with Wolcen and we will continue to do as much as we can, work on the next league, fix bugs, but the overall pace will be inevitably slowed down.

We're also freezing the recruitment process while the confinement remains.

To end on a positive note, we would like to invite you to the Geeks WorldWide channel on Twitch on the 22nd of March to follow a Wolcen stream with none other than THE David Brevik, the creator of Diablo, as a special guest! It's an honor for us to have such an ARPG champion take an interest in our game, we can't wait to hear his opinion about it, Also joining the stream is Geeks WorldWide CEO, Joe Barhoum, and our CEO, Daniel Dolui.

Thank you for your support! Take care of yourselves and each other :)

Always any type of work requires from a modicum of, to major interacting with coworkers.

You don't only code, there is imagery, sounds, etc, reviews and testing of results against their work.

Many aspects can require powerful and specialized equipment you can't take home, nor have in your kitchen.

May be dangerous to send critical code back and forth from your house, instead of having it in a secure office server.

Sorry, but criticizing from an ignorance of the complexity of matters tends to sound irresponsible/lazy Stunned

Edited: just read a post from developers that says
"... most of our team members can work from home, but that's not possible for everyone."
Obviously.

Yep, how dare people not put their health at risk so you can have your games patched faster? It's clearly all a hoax, just so they can refuse to fix their games right? I mean, it's not like the majority of businesses are shutting their doors right now or forcing people to work from home, and countless people have been laid off from jobs that they don't even know will still exist when this is all over.

Yes, it's all an excuse.

Yes, it's all an excuse.

COVID delaying patches, fine. No qualms at all.

Ultimately, there is no excuse the game launched in the state it was and still is. Period.

So they're using C19 as an excuse? Well that's handy isn't it? Guess that'll be the go to excuse for a while to come. 'Nope couldn't fix it/do it...C19.'
