Hi Retired,

Minnesota, 22nd place in USA states' population.
Some 5.6 million, against 330, say 1,7 % of the USA.

If *they* have readily available tests (link to source would be much appreciated, I would be happy of so good a signal of advancement), it doesn't follow that every other state must surely have them too.

A personal experience (in a state, city, town) does not supersede other realities, so being ok (or so convinced) does not entitle to call any other person a loonie for thinking otherwise, IMHO.

Best wishes
Dr Anthony S Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is the only official in the current administration trusted to tell the truth about the coronavirus, said last Thursday: “The system does not, is not really geared to what we need right now … It is a failing, let’s admit it.”
The current president has spent years undermining experts, scientists, and trust in government, the pandemic has shown his failings.
The US is on course to be severely ravaged by the coronavirus outbreak due to a delayed and dysfunctional testing regime and misleading messaging from the current administration, public health experts have warned.
A lack of planning and restrictions that barred testing people without symptoms, even though the virus can be asymptomatic for some time, or those not arriving from overseas virus hotspots has needlessly worsened the situation, critics said.
In the period from last Sunday until Wednesday morning, the CDC tested just 77 people in the US. By stark comparison the Utah Jazz basketball team alone managed to test 58 people as the NBA, along with scores of schools, Broadway shows and various other cultural and sporting events were shut down. Even in Washington state, where 31 people have died, health officials have had to ration test kits.

A doctor, who declined to be named because the hospital group he works for had not given him authorization to speak, said he was concerned at apparent indifference among a lot of people in the area and blamed the Trump administration and sections of conservative media for downplaying the risk.
“There’s not sufficient consciousness of social distancing because that’s not the message people are getting from the top,” he said.

The doctor also questioned whether health facilities in rural Wisconsin will be able to cope with a sudden increase in infections, with most lacking sufficient test kits and respirators for more than a small number of patients.
“The systems in this country are not well prepared for this sort of public health emergency,” he said. “They don’t work well together. We don’t have the supplies we need. We’re not testing nearly as many people as we should, even those who look like they may have symptoms.”

loony enough for ya
