How about implementing the game first? I wanted a space-fighter simulation. Wing Commander for the 21st century. I don't want first person shooters, survival mechanics, real-time strategy, mining and economic simulations, etc. I want to blow up not-Kilrathi in spaceships! How hard is that?!?! Apparently, for this bozo, it's damn near impossible...
I'm with you, but I'm pretty sure that SQ42 will be mostly WC for the 21st C. The online Persistent Universe (PU) is where they're adding all these additional mechanics. Still, a bit annoyed that this is being implemented as part of 1.0, instead of being added as an update.

SQ43 first needs to exist for it to be anything at all.

My feeling is SQ42 is the only thing that comes out of this. PU will never leave Alpha.

In popped in my head recently... I wonder if Amazon is funding this as well? They are bringing a lot of tech and I wonder if all of this becomes part of Amazon's engine.

Interesting theory.. could be actually realistic maybe.

Would only be a tiny drop in the Amazon finances

For a time there, I was enjoying watching the development, and logging in to see what was new. At this point, the single player game is still not available for normal backers. the PU needs to get their server code worked out because they can only handle about 50 players, and they continue to expand the universe, which while awesome, is useless for only 50 at a time covering the whole place. They are still working on it, but they need to concentrate on that, imho. The idea is they will have dynamic servers handling each section of the universe to have one consistent PU... but we'll see.

What do you mean "a bit annoyed"? That's the only thing they should have been focused on. 7 years and 250 million bucks on and they still don't have anything resembling an actual game.

If you run out ouf money you die in game? I'm talking IRL of course, 'cos if you have money then there are some jpegs of ships they will sell you If you stop spending on their stuff, then your ship's 'health' gradually drains until it explodes.

Seriously; it's all been said before for Star Citizen, but what the hell is the scope of this game now?
