That article on virtual currency somehow made me think of making a mobile game, adding a skin that is purchasable with a million dollars worth of “fun bucks” or whatever, but also purchasable with one “cool token” that players get for “free”. If they bought the skin with their token, the system would generate a tax form showing a one million dollar capital gain.

Crazy story about Ricky Davis there...

35 years later to get the real killer and a guy spent 15 years in prison because of an ex-girlfriends testimony under duress.

Even crazier is this one:

IRS quietly deletes guideline that Fortnite virtual currency must be reported on tax returns.

Gotta report virtual currency? WTF?

And since this was California which still has the death penalty, the opportunity was there to execute him.

Dahl changed her story under what Pierson said were the aggressive interrogation techniques in use at the time, implicating Davis as the killer and telling detectives that she bit the victim during the attack. He said the two investigators have since retired.

There ya go. The problem once again are crooked cops who only care about getting arrest and not the real culprit. I've seen estimates before that claim upwards of 30% of people in prison aren't guilty of the crimes that landed them there. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it's true, particularly in the US.
