KC:D is good, but the combat is janky as hell. I get that it's realistic to not be able to take on 2+ guys in real life combat, but you can still cheese the battles by circling around on your horse shooting arrows while your enemies put up a futile chase on foot. I think it might have been better to give it 3rd person combat and make it possible to manage fighting more than one guy at a time. That would have been more fun IMO.
I admit, the combat frustrated me at the start. I thought that this is never going to work, but as others have said, you just have to practice in game so that Henry learns AND you as well. Once youre really skillful in combat, its even possible to win against 2 or even 3 guys. Often times its more about being stealthy anyway, so you avoid waking up a whole camp or house, which would completely overwhelm you or get the guards called on you. Once youve mastered bows, it becomes a lot easier as well.
But the devs have stated that you can actually complete the game without killing anyone if its not really necessary. Theres a trophy for that.
I have given up on waiting for BIS to come back to their senses and do a real ArmA 2 successor.
