Dota 2 Bans 40K Over Matchmaking Abuse

A tweet from DOTA 2 reveals Valve has banned over 40,000 accounts for abusing matchmaking in Dota 2 (thanks PC Gamer via Yiddish). They don't offer details on the problem, but the Dota 2 Reddit has frequent posts about high level players creating smurf accounts and making life miserable for lower-level players as they climb through the ranks. Word is these are Steam game bans, as well as simple matchmaking bans:
We have banned over 40,000 accounts for players who were found abusing matchmaking. These bans will now appear as game bans in Steam as well as being matchmaking bans in Dota 2.

In this case less is more, I think...

If you want to have less than 90% then you are below 90% and if you have more, then you are above 90% ... my english is imo right, but I am not sure either

In this case I was already confused before I typed that sentence...

In fact, how would you even say it if you meant "more %" instead of more than less? Would have been even more confusing had I said "90% fewer acounts, probably more" no? How can something be less than fewer or more than fewer?

It's not the percent that you're quantifying, it's the accounts. You can have 90% less water, because water isn't individual items grouped together, unless you mean 90% fewer water molecules. The accounts would be the molecules of the playerbase.

Ah. So without specifically adding the per-cent in the quantifier english makes accounts the subject which makes that entire sentence a nightmare, I understand now. Maybe I shouldn't make my jibs language conundrums...

Wait what, if you’re really good you create a new account so that you’re matched with lower-ranked players?
Most long term players create a second account to climb the ranks....that's not the issue. It's not uncommmon for pros to have worked multiple accounts to the highest tier in games. Proving to themselves they can do it under differing circumstances and giving them some anonymity as protection from griefers / spies are just a couple of reasons for it.

Skilled players regularly creating smurf accounts to seal club low rank players is problematic and happens in a lot of games like this. I don't know if it's because the F2P aspect makes it easy since there is zero barrier to entry.
