Void Destroyer 2 Released

Void Destroyer 2 is now officially available on The Humble Store and Steam, following an extended Early Access run for this RTS/FPS sequel. This provides a chance to destroy the void, leaving behind a totally better void (or something like that). A Cinematic Trailer introduces the concept, while this Gameplay Trailer shows it in action. You can also join in on discussion of the project in the Steam Forums and the game's Discord. Here's the pitch:
Void Destroyer 2 is now available on Steam and the Humble Store after about 3 years and 4 months of early access. Void Destroyer is inspired by some of the best genre design elements found within space RTS, space combat flight simulators, and open world RTS. As before with Void Destroyer 1, this single-developer project includes both RTS and FPS gameplay putting the player in the role of both pilot and commander, with the flight model using momentum based Newtonian physics. Where Void Destroyer 1 primarily featured a linear campaign, Void Destroyer 2 is primarily an open world sandbox with multiple factions that includes the option of a story based campaign. Starting with a single small ship: work as a mercenary, trader, bounty hunter, or pirate to build up funds. Upgrade your personal ship and add to your fleet, until you are capable of taking a base from one of the established factions. Manage a larger scale economy from this base and build up further until you wipe out your enemies. If you chose, attempt to conquer the entire sector map or see the campaign story to its conclusion.

Void Destroyer 2 is also highly moddable, featuring an XML based file architecture that is relatively easy to work with. It is possible to add new weapons, ships, bases, missions, and even new factions. The Void Destroyer 2 community is primarily based out of the game's Steam Forums and its official Discord server. Hrm, looks pretty badass. I kind of bounced off the first game, but maybe I'll get this one and give it a try.
