Fallout 76 Coming to Steam with Free Expansion

Bethesda announces that Fallout 76 will be coming to Steam on April 7th, and this will come along with a free expansion called Wastelanders for all owners of the game. This will bring a lot to the post-apocalyptic RPG, including a new main quest, human NPCs, new creatures and gear, and more. There will also be new bundles offered for purchase, and this post has details on those and the plans to relaunch the game, saying players will be able to transfer their game and items (but not items) from Bethesda.net to Steam. They also offer a Fallout 76: Wastelanders Official Trailer. Here's word:
FALLOUT 76 – WASTELANDERS LAUNCH DATE & DETAILS
The wait is almost over. Soon new faces will flow into the wilds of West Virginia and it will be up to you to welcome them with open arms (or loaded weapons). We are excited to share that Fallout 76 owners will be able to experience the Wastelanders expansion for free on April 7 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC through Bethesda.net. Fallout 76 will also be coming to Steam on April 7, and Wastelanders will be available to anyone who purchases the standard or deluxe editions of the game. In addition to introducing fully voiced NPCs to the world of Fallout 76, Wastelanders brings a brand-new main questline, new locations, new enemies, new weapons, a new reputation system and much more. Get ready for Wastelanders with a new trailer and learn more about how you’ll be able to play it on April 7.

HOW TO PLAY WASTELANDERS
Current Fallout 76 owners will not need to purchase any additional content in order to play Wastelanders when it launches. This expansion is completely free for Fallout 76 owners. For those who want more, we’re also offering for purchase two Faction-themed content bundles, as well as a combination bundle, which will give players access to exclusive cosmetic and C.A.M.P. items.

Fallout 76 isn't nearly as bad as the trolls who in most cases didn't even play the game would have you believe. Sure it plays like shit on that i5-550 with GTX 650 and 2 gigs of ram, and it plays like shit in the conslows but like for fucks sakes just get a new PC and stuff already.

the game plays like fallout 4, but with a broken vats system. I don't understand for the life of me why they didn't nix vats since it doesn't work in a multiplayer environment.

other then that, I didnt have a problem with the game, and found it fun. Then again i am literate and didn't need a NPC to read the story to me.

I agree with pretty much everything stated here. The game is nowhere near as bad as people think it is. It had a rough launch like any game, but it was still leaps and bounds better considering this was Bethesda's first foray developing an online game.

The people who complain it doesn't have a story are basically the same people who want instant gratification and don't want to read anything. The Lore is very readily there and quite in-depth.

Now, the complaints about retcon'ing are valid enough, but also fairly easy to overlook.

What, their store isn't awesome enough to exploit customers suckers? Zombie

If they wanted to exploit suckers, they would have picked the Epic Games Store. No reviews or ratings and no community forums. Pretty sure they're going to Steam because that's where they can find most of their customers plus new ones.

Lol, you reckon this dumpster fire wouldn't have been noticed if it was on Epic?

I said most of Bethesda's customers are on Steam, which means it has nothing to do with exposure. Learn to comprehend.

The only multiplayer anyone asked for was to simply add co-op to the standard Fallout gameplay. Instead, they dumped this bucket of shit on everyone.

I've played it a bit. It isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but it also isn't up the the standard of previous Fallout games. I'd say it probably worth picking it up if it ever goes on sale.

Not battle.net but the Bethesda launcher.

Dang. Fixed. Thanks for catching that, them referring to it as B.net addled me.

See? SEE?? It's misleading!

Because it's a game GaaS that was touted to investors as the next golden egg. You think Bethesda does this to make money, but in reality decisions like these are because if they did kill it they'd lose money they already spent.

Life lesson is, I guess not to take investor money if you make a game GaaS

Not that I think it will make much difference because most people just aren't fond of it.

As per their announcement last March, FO76 was their first and last attempt at exclusivity for major releases. Took only 4 months since that came out for them to change their mind. Though I suppose it must have been making them at least some money, since they've taken their sweet time bringing it over. It was supposed to already be on Steam by now.
