confirmed by science. Hopefully the clairvoyant woodchucks in your area had
similar good news. Speaking of which, do they celebrate this in Australia and
other south of the equator locales to predict the timing of autumn? Never
pondered that before. In other Groundhog Day news, Ned Ryerson says it's the
best day of his life. Maybe because he's been revived for
a Super Bowl ad. Oh yeah, that's the other thing: today is Super Bowl
Sunday. I'm already dead and buried in our
Playoff Pool, so I'm just hoping for an entertaining game. Here's hoping
your festivities for the "big game" are excellent, and you don't suffer any beer
or chicken wing related calamities along the way.

I made the mistake of watching Shannon and Skip on the Super Bowl pre-game special today. Skip Bayless has left me dumbfounded by making the argument that Dak Prescott is a better QB than Patrick Mahomes. He argued this for a good 15 minutes.

Hey Blue, isn't the playoff pool using progressive scoring? (I.e. Round 1 gives 1 point for each correct pick, round 2 gives 2 points for each correct pick.) If that's the case, then picking the winner of today's game should be worth 4 points. Wouldn't that mean you still have a chance?

Happy Groundhog Day! Happily Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring this year.Spring started in November here. Winter where I live usually tends to be mild and short, but we usually have a week or two of brutal low temps tossed at us. Winter isn't over yet, so there's still time I guess. It has been the warmest and wettest winter I can remember. Temps have been 50-70°F and lots and lots of rain. We've only had a hand full of days where it dipped into the 40's or lower. For all of December and half of January I didn't see the sun because it was raining or overcast.

early spring? 45Mph wind with 70mph gusts and the snowline is 650m dropping to 400m tomorrow. We live at 350m so its on its way. Lots of rime on the rocks and a bit of cornicing on high tops. Thermometer says 4C today.

The fireworks are booming around town. The first "Superbowl" was crushing as a kid, so the winning Superbowl IV was rewarding. I have held onto the Sports Illustrated from that Victory, and have it here on my computer desk.
KC went through a long drought with the Royals, and now an even longer drought with the Chiefs is over.
