That 75% number is Nvidia blowing smoke. If they get 25% I will be quite surprised. GPUs have matured enough that getting huge performance gains are things of the past.

First yes I'll be over the moon at 75%, but there still have been big gains recently from GPU's, The 10x0 series was very very nice. I have a list somewhere I was keeping of gen gains, 50% area's weren't out of the question. That said there were a few 10-15%'ers (7x0-9x0 was snooze), 25% isn't a bad average perhaps and a fair bar to have. But we've seen some really nice gens out of Nvidia.

You didn't read the article, did you (or even other posts apparently)? True or not, that number didn't come from Nvidia, but was leaked through one of their HPC partners. And again, this isn't referencing consumer GPUs.

wccftech only publishes 75% of the best fluff

75% pricier? How bout a 600$ xx60? "MIDRANGE!" ...

Midrange will still beat whatever AMD brings to the table. Just like the last 10 generations. lul

I hope you said that tongue in cheek as AMD is already putting pressure on Nvidia and will continue to do so. My next upgrade will NOT be an Nvidia one.

NVIDIA Next-Gen Ampere GPUs Are 75% Faster Than Current GPUs?
It should be pointed out that this is in reference to the professional HPC segment, and most likely will not translate to such a high gain in gaming performance when the consumer cards are released.

Though I myself am holding out on a full system upgrade for the release of the 3080ti (from a 1080ti), so I'll be thrilled to be proven wrong (or at least get anywhere close).

If I can sell my 3 year old GTX 1080 and get a mid-range RTX 3070 with the performance of the RTX 2080 Ti (with the usual next-gen/new hardware features of course) for $500 then next-gen will be outstanding for me. Really looking forward to seeing what Nvidia does with TSMC 7nm in 6 months or whenever.

That'll probably be the time to replace my Benq 1080p/144Hz monitor with a 27GL83A-B too.
