Star Citizen Increased Player Count Experiment

A post on the Star Citizen Forums announces that Cloud Imperium Games is experimenting with increasing the number of players per instance on the test servers for the upcoming space game (thanks Wccftech). Here's the plan:
We are opening a special PTU with the player cap increased to 60 from 50. This is an experimental setup and the build is identical to live, just with 10 more players. Our goal is to collect performance and stability data while making additional cap adjustments, but any oddities that you see would be helpful to know about as well. Please reply with any issues, new performance bottlenecks, or negative impacts that are new to PTU and not currently on live. Please include screenshots and videos where appropriate.

It's important to note that this is merely a test, and is not representative of any definitive incoming changes.

Now where have I heard this before? Oh, that's right. In the Epic Games Store threads, only the tables turned and you're the fan of EGS in them. Do you see how easy it is to name call and label make when the other person doesn't share your point of view.

No, when a person posts the same thing like a robot, endlessly derailing every thread. In your time here, numerous people have complained about you ruining topics with your own agenda. As the SC fanatics both ways do.

I mean, hell, you managed to bring your EGS whining to a topic about some Stardock game not even connected to EGS.

"whining." You're using projection, again.

I am merely posting an observation about how you consistently use label making and name-calling (e.g. "robot," "fanatics") regardless if you're for or against something. If you want to disagree with someone, that's fine. But lay off the personal jabs.

SC is un-rleased, un-launched, un-ready for prime time.

Lets put it this way, on launch day it was perfectly fair to write a formal game review for WoW.

Would you say it's time for PC Gamer to go and give SC a review rating? If you counter this I'm probably not going to bother arguing back. You can't compare the two in terms of state of release.

You're right, they could and they did. But you could argue that they could also continue to do reviews of the base game until it's finished/out of content. Would the 2004 review of WoW launch be valid for today's WoW? No, it would not because of how much the base game has changed since then.

Not saying your wrong, never did. Some reason you think I'm "defending SC" for some reason, which I think is hilarious. I just asked a question on what jdreyer felt as a defined finished product.

And yes, they could do a review and others have/do of SC. No one is stopping anyone and especially true of forums like this one.

Also, you can't say a product is finished by the state of the release, Ubisoft proves that ever time they release a game.

jdreyer wrote on Jan 12, 2020, 14:56:
"I reject reality and substitute my own." Blizzard considered WoW finished in 2004. The players considered it finished. Only you don't consider it finished.

No one knew in 2004 what WoW would become and what it would change in teams of future game development. So ya, back in 2004 it was considered a finished product until they continue to develop it for 15 more years and changing the base game making it a perpetually unfinished product.

As a long time WoW player I really don't know how to respond to this. WoW is at this point a game with effectively 2-3 sequels depending on how you break down its game design and thats with being pretty specific within the mmorpg genre. The game is finished as it were with each expansion and then they redsign something and make it worse or sometimes better. At the very least you get the last 6+ months of a mostly stable gameplay rules/balance time each expansion.

SC is now two games instead of one and still effectively in alpha 8 years after announcement. For pete's sake, I got a free copy I forgot to claim back in November of 2014 with a R9 290 graphics card.

so, you have 122 posts to prove your point and yet somehow you fall flat yet again. Anyways, here a freebie.... I think I once commented at Derek Smart and one of his shit post about how SC would never be able to complete the Tech they have and how I thought the tech would be awesome if it was brought over to other games like planetside ..... So if that's your smoking gun, you're welcome...

and yes I made a sarcastic comment about a DS follower on a forum ..

You should hang onto this for the next time someone calls you a single issue poster. This is the proof that that's not true!
With this evidence, only 122 of your 123 posts are defending SC, not all of them.

Wait what? Huh? Wait, I thought you were going to single handedly show that I am on a crusade to justify SC and THAT is what you come up with? A post about Diablo mobile?..... wow

You don't read so well.

Anyway here's a link to your first post defending SC

Just imagine I also linked every single other post you've made here, with the exception of that post about WoW that I previously linked.
