For everyone at Rare, the Sea of Thieves community represents the very best of what gaming can be. It’s home to players from more than eighty different countries, bringing together gamers on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One and Windows 10 PC and creating countless stories and moments that people can treasure. Seeing these stories shared through social media or other community spaces is something that inspires the team every day. To every person who’s played Sea of Thieves, thank you.
Our community will be at the centre of our January update – ‘Legends of the Seas’ – which will be available to all players for free from Wednesday January 15. Not only will this update celebrate our community and its stories, it will also feature two limited-edition gifts to mark our 10 million player milestone. Log-in to the game between January 15 and 22 and claim a free custom sail and a special new emote.

this is not a streaming friendly game. half of the time you are just voyaging across the ocean manning different parts of a ship. not really what people tune into twitch for. elite 360 noscopes are few and far between here.
also, gotta take game pass numbers into that equation. not everyone who played this one extensively had bought it.

Good games and good games for streaming audiences aren't really the same thing.
This game was pretty much built for streaming but it is not "good" regardless.
The best thing I can say about it is that's its fun to get drunk and play with friends but that applies to pretty much any game.

I think this game is fucking amazing and there is nothing else like it. If anything they are adding too much stuff!
But it’s very much doing it’s own thing and intentionally ignoring traditional ideas about progression and narrative, to its benifit I believe, there are enough Age of Sail adventure, management and combat games out there but but nothing like this. If you want to sail co-operatively it’s phenomenal, kid loves it and I find the sailing and combat problems very interesting. Not many AoS games you can share with others where those sails on the horizon are a truly pants shitting event.

It was as far as I recall part of the Xbox Game Pass at one point, so lots of people tried it out for free.Darks wrote on Jan 8, 2020, 19:21:
Why? its like the biggest POS game I ever played. There is literally nothing to do in the game.
Yeah, I don’t understand those numbers. There has got to be something fishy going on. Pun intended.
Maybe it’s a community thing or something like that.
