Not gonna lie, Division 2 for 5 bucks is pretty sweet. Been a long time since Steam had a sale that good (though I did pick up DMC5 for $14.50 at GMG).

I've had Epic installed for months and went to actually use it this morning but I was logged out - don't you hate how everything bar Steam just can't seem to get that right? (Uplay, I'm looking at you)

So I tried to log back in, verified with the code emailed to me... and it kicks me back out. Did that half a dozen times.

Uninstalled. Reinstalled.

Or at least, trying to. It won't go beyond "Please wait while we start your update".

Forced it down. Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Same thing.

Is Below Zero worthwhile for someone that was enthralled with the early and mid game of Subnautica but totally got bored in the late game?

Later vehicles were more trouble than they were worth (yet utterly necessary), there became less and less direction on where to go (seriously, finding the lava fields without using the internet seems unlikely. Obviously people did it, but it was well hidden and I found nothing directing me there), and it started to feel tedious. Getting places wasn't easy. Getting resources wasn't easy. Your new vehicles had a LOT of resources tied up in them and didn't feel worth risking, since resources didn't renew and rebuilding one of them, with the mods, would be an arduous task.

But I loved the initial exploration, finding new worlds, new parts, new base rooms, new creatures, etc. It was only going into the very end that it started to feel like I'd be going somewhere more trouble than it was worth. (I think part of it is that I never fully learned the mechanics of what can kill you, because losing a vehicle once taught me mostly to avoid, and therefore I had no clue if something would follow me to the heavens, or follow me 10 feet.)

Yeah exactly glaze. It gets compared to other TBS games but I find it more like playing chess with mechs. Almost every situation is winnable but your fuckups do more and more damage to your overall campaign as you go.

I really like that it's a short game too, you can do an entire campaign in an hour or two, its intended to be replayed.

I enjoy ITB gameplay, it's actually amazing that every level seems "winnable", but prior mistakes (from previous levels) by the player do compound, and losses feel more self-inflicted than simply facing overwhelming enemies.

I just wish it had the humor of FTL... and the personality that ‘choose your own adventure’ decision gave room for.

Still good!

ITB might be my favorite game of all time, though it took me a few weeks of jury duty and associated 3 hour commute per day with it on my switch to realise it.

It's so, so perfect.

Into the Breach has a bunch of squads to unlock and some of them will really click while you will hate others. It's a subjective thing so sometimes people will only really "get" the game once they unlock their favorite. Same. I have over 600 in FTL. Over 400 in the 2 new XCOMs combined. But this didn't capture me.

In truth, all I did was the tutorial mission, which isn't really giving it a chance. I'll get back to it some day. But, there's so much more FTL to play. I still haven't won with every ship on Hard!

After a few missions you'll realise how clever the game is.
