The long-awaited debut of Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) on PC was worth the wait, thanks to the amazing Halo community as well as a host of all-new players experiencing the Halo universe for the very first time. The release of Halo: Reach in MCC on both PC and Xbox One on December 3 led to a monumental launch for the Halo franchise, with record numbers including:

  • Nearly 3 million players of MCC on PC and Xbox One during launch week
  • #1 top-selling game on Steam during launch week and the highest-ranking debut for an Xbox Game Studios title on Steam
  • #1 most-watched game on Twitch during launch day

When fans haven’t been playing MCC, they’ve been watching, viewing nearly 3 million hours of Halo streams during launch week, pushing MCC into the #1 most-watched position on Twitch during launch day.

PC players and media have taken notice of Halo’s return on PC, with MCC rated “Very Positive” across more than 35k Steam Customer Reviews and The Washington Post proclaiming MCC on PC as, “the best deal in gaming.”

OK, so I got to play through it for around 1 hour last night before I quit.

- MINI REVIEW -

graphics for the intro looked pretty good, but in game is barely passable improvement as any old game getting a texture upgrade can be... the characters & vehicles are better improved than the overall environment seems to be.

The acting/ voice overs are obviously dated / cheesy in their presentation. You can tell it is an old game. like a B rated movie on TV or something , you know. Not horrible but not great .

Overall sound is bad IMHO. Music is good but the sound effects are very tinny & hollow. It is almost like listening to it in mono or something ? , not impactfull nor realistic.

Gameplay was worse than my memory of it was. I could only look down sights on sniper rifle or pistol , but not on my assault rifle. ..etc... & not very interesting , is the best word I can find for how it felt.
I got bored pretty quick but kept playing anyways to give it a try...

The best rating I could give it so far would be a "C" .

This rating may go up or down as I try to play even further into it. BUT so far, it is merely OK . Nostalgia & all .
SO that is my first reactions. Yours may vary .
