"Kelley Gilmore, 'the first woman in 2K history to launch and lead a development studio.'"
A person's experience and accolades is what people should be noted for, not their gender. I thought we moved passed this nonsense.
Which might be why that statement began with "Industry veteran". Funny that you chose to omit that part and then criticize the article for mentioning sex but not experience.
And for reference, she's from Firaxis, worked on the X-COM and Civilization franchises.
I didn't omit anything. I'm calling out that specific mention as stupid.
"A 22-year industry veteran with more than 40 games shipped to date" = good
"the first woman in 2K history" = bad
"A 22-year industry veteran with more than 40 games shipped to date, Kelley Gilmore will serve as Cloud Chamber’s Global Studio Head. Her wealth of experience transcends executive production, marketing direction and public relations management, including nearly two decades of service to another of 2K’s wholly owned studios, Firaxis Games, on franchises such as Sid Meier’s Civilization® and XCOM®. Her role is based in Novato."
This revised paragraph praises her experience and accolades, and says nothing about her gender. It's not important.
