Out of the Blue

Today is Green Monday. This was originally cooked up by eBay, and apparently at one point the green was meant to evoke environmental concerns as well as money, though over time the focus has shifted more and more towards profits. This makes me sorry I only learned about the existence of Buy Nothing Day after the fact (it was November 29th this year). I'll try to remember that one for next year.

This "seizure risk warning" would have been necessary especially, but not only before the movies The Phantom Menace and The Last Jedi! But I have no doubt that Darth Mouse's great finale, the movie to finish the 3 Skywalker trilogies, will be so incredibly and ridiculously bad (storywise, mostly) that many old school fans will have seizures while watching this movie.

Im not going to see it. After watching that piece of shit abortion of a movie (Ep. 8) I've not gone to see anything Star Wars related. (Not that Ep 7. was any good either) I do watch the Mandalorian though. It's pretty good so far.

I can't believe they have the gall to call it the "Rise of Skywalker" and the "Skywalker trilogy" given how they treated Luke. He wasn't in the first movie at all, barely in the second (while trashing his character) and then unceremoniously kill him off. Of course they never get called out for this be the media.

R.I.P. Odo. I vaguely remember his role in Benson as the snobbish chief of staff (I was quite young but I liked the show. It was an 80's sit-com version of Downton Abbey). So I was familiar with him in DS9, but it was DS9 where I liked René the most! Interesting side note, Ethan Phillips (who played Neelix in Voyager) also starred in Benson.

Definitely a good episode -- interesting to learn he was actually 26 when it was made. He looked very close the character's age of 17...

Is this an attempt at humor or do you really have a need for a "dually"? I like pickup trucks in general, but I've never been able to justify buying one.

I guess I should have written "12 liter V-8"

I'm old, I no longer look at vroom vroom, I look at how much it's gonna cost me to fill the tank.
I'm hoping for 4 MPG.

PSA since several were interested in the Gigabyte Elite. I had a lot of trouble getting my memory working at the correct speed; it was on the QVL. After many many hours over several days of messing with dram calculators and bios settings I moved the sticks from A1/B1 to A2/B2, enabled XMP and it saw everything just fine.

This seems to be a relatively common issue for the board, and may be encountered trying to run anything over 3200Mhz (I was trying to run 3600). I seem to remember reading somewhere that RAM with Samsung B die is more likely to be trouble free with this board.

Not saying don't get the board, but also maybe look into some other boards if y'all are still interested. For my part I had thought XMP had progressed to a point that if it was on your board's QVL you had little to worry about and that 3600 wasn't much of an OC from a board that could run natively at 3200.

"Disney Says ‘Rise Of Skywalker’ May Pose Seizure Risk"

If you are putting out a movie most people will see, maybe don't include stupid flashy lights that pose a seizure risk? I don't have a risk of seizures, but the flashing lights in Incredibles 2 still hurt and made me hate that movie.
