The
Hollywood Reporter has word that the lawsuits between Gearbox Software boss
Randy Pitchford and former Gearbox general counsel Wade Callender are now
settled. The suits involved allegations that Pitchford pocketed a $12M bonus
intended for the company and trafficked in underage pornography and
counter-accusations that Callender abused his company credit card and stiffed
Gearbox on a $300K loan. After all that acrimony, the conclusion seems oddly
benign:
"Upon review of all the evidence in the case, it was of the
opinion of counsel that the evidence exonerated Randy Pitchford from the
allegations against him," reads an official dismissal statement obtained by The
Hollywood Reporter. "All misunderstandings between the parties have been
corrected, and apologies were exchanged. Because the parties are mutually bound
by confidentiality, no additional statements will be forthcoming."
