Yeah, there are malicious women who use accusations to enrich themselves or for revenge or whatever. I’ve known people who have been ruined by them. It’s a terrible shitty thing to do and usually only the rich can afford to get justice out of the situation.

So it’s vey much like rape/sexual harrassment. But unlike abusers preying on the vulnerable using power dynamics and the scorned woman narrative as a shield, way more common for you average woman to have to worry about at work, in transit or even at home on a day to day basis.

So telling them heir only recourse is through the justice system that often fails them is an absolute joke. Get back to me on this witch hunt shit when we start burning people at the stake.

People are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, or liberals just say they are according to you. No one's saying ANY sort of physical assault is fine, but the witch hunts need to cease. Remember the parable of the boy who cried wolf. It's age old for a good reason.

Did you even read the blurb, let alone the article? The reason it's talking about small games companies is that these companies are the ones that don't have an HR department to handle these sorts of problems and it gets out of control. And the big guys hardly get a free pass. I recall a number of recent scandals at larger devs, like Riot for example.

To credit the Blues' community, there are like 5 people that go around talking about how SJWs are stealing their hobby, but most people think that's absurd. Regardless of where they fall on the political spectrum, most here think whining about some SJW boogeyman is ludicrous. It's really about 5 people doing it. Otherwise, pretty strong and mature community here (unless we're discussing Star Citizen or No Man's Sky.)

5 people that are utterly incapable of understanding that criticism isn't censorship, and that you can criticize a part of something without criticizing the whole. Kind of standard for all people for some things, but gets back to people that think you can't criticize America without hating it (yet somehow saying it isn't currently great is ok), or you can't say that a game had something you didn't like without hating the entire game.

A commendable statement, altho most of the work to solve this problem will have to be done elsewhere.

The fact that it appears in this environment is a symptom, not a root cause. The root cause is to be found elsewhere. Some cultures when they were discovered didn't even know rape was possible, the very concept in itself was totally alien to them and they didn't even have a name for it.

There was no rape in the Inuït population prior to Europeans arrival, same for the indigenous population encountered by Columbus on its 1st voyage, among a few examples.

A careful study of their cultures can reveal where we erred. They had no taboos about sex, they didn't consider it shameful either, they never tried to hide it, conceal it and there was no concept of guilt attached to any part of it either. Another key part was their respect of free will as being paramount in their overall attitude that showed in the way they treated sexual activity.

Contrast that to the current dominant worldwide spanning culture(s), mostly stemming from stupid religious roots, with the worst offenders being the cultures stemming from Abrahamic religions, that is Jews, Christianity and Islam, altho of course other cultures spawning from different religions also have issues about sex too, among other things, but the Abrahamic ones really seems to be the worst offenders as far as sex is concerned. We may have moved away from religion in most countries, but strangely, we just swapped religious beliefs, taboos and dogmas about sex ( among other things ) with cultural beliefs, taboos and dogmas about sex ( among other things ).

If you want to treat the symptoms only and leave the root cause to fester, GamesInd article has a point if you don't mind a never ending fight that can't be won. But if you want to tackle the root causes once and be done with it, EXAMINE THE CULTURE, especially its beliefs, taboos and dogmas.
