Is this related to another instance of Zoë Quinn being assaulted or something entirely new? I'm starting to loose track.
See,that's a problem right there. There's too much of it going on. And if it seems to be this common, imagine what is was like in the past, BEFORE people got called out.
I have a great deal of empathy for victims of sexual abuse. Every female I know (including my wife) has had to deal with it, as did I. The problem is that not everyone reacts to abuse the same... for some people it has a minimal effect and for others it defines them.
My aunt was horrifically abused as a child and, as a result, struggled with her sexuality all her life. At one point she just decided all men were evil and she sought to damage as many as possible... didn't matter if you were innocent or not. That became her mission. She damaged many lives. Eventually people caught on to what she was doing and stopped supporting her, but the damage was already done.
I'm not saying Zoë Quinn is the same type of person as my aunt, but it's uncanny how similar they both are. The most frustrating part is that we need to support the victims but keep our heads on straight to know when we are being manipulated.
