Graphical downgrade galore, compared to the original game.

Edit: apparently I'm not the only one that noticed it. Thanks Snake.

Hrm, that's odd, especially the last set of pics. Looks like they removed/turned down shadows? It'll probably get a few patches before I get to playing this version anyway, I'm sure it'll be resolved in a few months.
Shadows and lights got nerfed.

At least for me, I found the save system a bit annoying, no other major system complaints. I was in the middle of playing some RPGs already when it came out, and I put it on the back burner, then uninstalled it to make room for something else, figuring I'd wait for some patches.

I don't feel as though I put enough time into the vanilla version to really comment on the story or anything; looking forward to playing it after I finish Witcher 3, which I'd also been putting off for years.

Hmm now that you mention it, that's how it went for me too. I guess the release date wasn't good for the game. I was either jaded with RPGs or there were some big new games that got prio in the end.

I'll reinstall this during the next draught.

Same here. Why is that? Surely there's more wrong with the game than just some rebalances and UI fixes? Not sure what it is. Did it lack character? Was the story uninteresting? Anyway, I hope this DC version somehow gets me past my first few hours as well somehow.

I think because we all know they will eventually make a BETTER version of all these games, and with backlogs of games etc., there is no hindrance to waiting it out.

Excellent! Only one big post-deluxe-version patch to go until I will play this. I've been waiting for all of the extras and patches before beginning. Fig'd it way back.

I backed the Fig or Kickstarter way back when, got this upgrade and some various DLCs on Gog in an email today.

Pretty good timing; I played only a few hours of the vanilla version when it first came out, I'll just restart with the DC version as my next RPG.
