youtube have removed so many war and conflict footage ( for commercial reasons, political or personal bias) , that if you didn't download them , chances are you will never see it again.

Another good one is 4K Video Downloader. The free version has some non-intrusive ads but it works like a charm otherwise.

These are not offline videos, it's a DRM feature which is 100% useless.

If you want to actually get a Youtube video, you have to use an external site which will re-mux the streams and generate 1080p output. A couple of them actually work.

Or you just get Youtube Downloader which has been working fine for... I dunno, six or seven years now? They have gimped the free version quite heavily by now (it used to be excellent), but they often have deals where you can get a year's license for 10 bucks (down from 40).

I download so much shit with YTD it's insane. I think I may just cough up the regular 40 bucks when it's due for next year. Super useful software. It lets you immediately convert files into a host of other extensions, lets you cut and clip. One of the best tools around, imo.

You know, there is also youtube-dl.

What on earth are you downloading from YouTube?

Everything and anything, basically. Youtube use is blocked at work, so just download it and put it offline. I download a lot of snooker to watch offline, sports, music that I really enjoy but can't find an official track to buy from, etc.

YTD also downloads from tons of other websites, it's not just YT that I download from.
