Ohhhhhhh Martha, Martha, Martha...

i was more of a serena altschul fanboy. good googily moogily she was a young nerd's dream.

Nina Blackwood was my draw to the show. Reminded me of good beachy times on any number of Sandy Eggo, Cali days back in that endless summer of my kid-hood. Lots of folks with her style about the place. She felt like home on this new televised music medium thingy of theirs at the time.

38 years, tho? When the hell did that happen?!

~Finis~

she still DJs on the 80's on 8 channel on sirius/xm. i think martha quinn too!

I think Martha is the only one of the living original VJs that doesn't DJ there (R.I.P. J.J.). But I hear Alan, Mark, and Nina all the time.

Nina's voice is pretty rough these days though. It was scratchy to start with back in the 80s, and by now it's pretty extreme.

Good thing the video wasn't NSFW.

Having a heart attack not at work seems quite a lot less safe.

IMHO, the book was better than the movie -- which didn't have the agency in the movie, and the Jumper was unique.

Fun fact: In 2008, Sam Jackson played a character in Jumper bent on hunting and killing people with superhuman abilities. A few months later he appeared in his first cameo as Nick Fury in Iron Man to hunt and assemble people with superhuman abilities.

Bummer. Hopefully he didn't suffer too much. That is one of the worst things about cancer, not only does it kill you but often it kills you painfully...

That article on allergies doesn't sound right. The example with children over three developing allergies because they haven't eaten certain foods. Their example with peanuts. Who the hell feeds kids peanuts at 0-3 years? And how much do you need to eat so you won't develop an allergy? By that rationale everyone should be allergic to tons of shit because people everywhere aren't exposed to lots of stuff because of regional and economic limits. I never ate seafood because I hate it. Even smelling it makes me nauseous, yet I'm not allergic to - I know because I had an allergy test 2 years ago and I have zero allergies. Being too clean is certainly a problem however but I don't see the correlation with allergies. The whole article is about correlation, which we all know is not causation.

Yesterday I got my motherboard and decided, at 6:00pm, that I was going to upgrade my system. Everything went mostly smoothly. I discovered that my seven year old 1000w power supply did not have an 8 pin 12v EPS connector that the new motherboard required. Did an emergency run and picked up an 850w modular EVGA power supply.

Outside of that, the machine powered up and booted up on the first try. My Linux install didn't give a fuck. It just booted up and said "Cool. Faster hardware. Here's your desktop."

Temps are fine, idling at around 30C on air on the stock cooler. I think it spiked up once to 55c when I fired up all my test VMs at the same time but it generally hovers around 42c when in use.
