If you think about it, why wait for some random date to announce your new widget.
E3 is suffering from xmas syndrome. That's where stores start showing xmas stuff earlier and earlier, I'm no longer surprised by the Santa yard inflatables displayed in March.
But... I bet the Ryzen 3000 serie made you salivate early instead of waiting for July, so I guess, mission accomplished.
Joking aside, the performance was top notch, especially considering the benchmarks they ran were pre win 10 may update scheduler optimizations ( mostly affecting gaming and increasing perf by "upto" 15% in CPU limited scenarios ) and the Intel systems didn't have the security mitigations enabled for either gaming nor productive workloads.
AMD looks pretty confident this time both in gaming and productivity workloads if they gave Intel "all the help they could get" in the benchmarks.
Kinda wish I hadn't went with an i7-8700 in late 2017, but the i7-870 was getting pretty long in the tooth, even oc'd, so heh, I'll just wait till the i7-8700 can't keep up anymore before upgrading.
Which of the 3000 serie got you salivating the most?
I'm not a streamer so the 3800x has got my eye.https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-7-3800x
and by widget I meant anything and everything including games
I expect the one-upmanship to start earlier and earlier in the future making shows like this less and less important.
