Here's hoping that vaccine works. Neurological diseases and conditions are just the worst. My neighbor's wife has Alzheimer's and it's just terrible. She's such a lovely human being. And to see her decline over the last 3 years has been shocking. From the Alzheimer's Society....
Above the age of 65, a person's risk of developing Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia doubles roughly every 5 years. It is estimated that dementia affects one in 14 people over 65 and one in six over 80.
Tell me that's not scary, and it's getting worse. She's lucky she has such a loving family to help. It's horrific enough to be staring that down but with no support besides being stuck in an institution somewhere until you fade away? There are too many things in this world that really are worse than dying.
