DOOM Eternal in November

The official E3 story trailer for DOOM Eternal is now available on Bethesda.net. This includes the revelation that the sequel to the 2016 DOOM reboot will launch on November 22nd. Don't let the story trailer moniker fool you, this includes gameplay footage, making for a pretty action-packed experience. The accompanying post does shed more light on the game's plot:

The forces of Hell have claimed Earth, overwhelming the planet with demons.
Itís time for you to once again fill the skull-crushing boots of the DOOM Slayer and save humanity from utter destruction.

Of course, thereís only one way to stop the chaos: rip and tear through every demon in your path, until it is done.

RAZE HELL
In DOOM Eternal, fight through the relentless demon onslaught with unmatched speed, devastating weaponry and evolved aggression-first combat as the legendary DOOM Slayer. See the newest trailer for a taste of the adrenaline-fueled combat, engaging gameplay and expanding universe that awaits in DOOM Eternalís single-player Campaign.

The Slayer is deadlier this time around, but so are the enemies he faces. To annihilate the demon onslaught, players need to master a deadly combination of raw firepower, fast movement, aggressive resource management and old-fashioned instinct in DOOM Eternalís demanding encounters.

SEIZE. VICTORY.
The Slayer must rely on every aspect of his upgraded arsenal and abilities to combat the escalating strength of Hellís fully unleashed minions. Every resource matters and slaying at full strength means managing them aggressively. If you need something, charge into combat and take it from the demons.

Use the new Flame Belch ability on the Slayerís shoulder-mounted Equipment Launcher to set demons ablaze and then shoot the immolated foes for armor. To restore health, use overwhelming firepower to stagger a demon and follow up with the ultimate rip-and-tear finisher, the Glory Kill. Ammo is scarce, so eviscerating enemies with the Chainsaw is essential for restocking the Slayerís munitions.

As the waves of demons you fight get tougher, youíll need to utilize the right weapons in your arsenal at the right times to maximize your damage. With DOOM Eternalís demon destruction system, tearing apart demons piece by piece is not only fun, itís useful, as targeting and destroying a heavy demonís primary guns can help make short, bloody work of even the toughest foes.

From the gap-closing Double Dash to the Meathook mod for the Super Shotgun, which allows you to hook into and get up-close-and-personal with a demon, DOOM Eternal puts you in control of the ultimate demon killing machine. But resourceful fighting is only one of the many additions to the Slayerís kit. On top of powerful new weapons like the energy-bladed Crucible and devastating Ballista, new options like scaling sheer walls, vaulting from monkey bars, punching through walls, breaking chains and much more allows you to master the environment as much as the combat.

Demons have taken over Earth, but you will show them what hell is really like this year when DOOM Eternal launches November 22.

Looks pretty awesome and the previous game was great; to the wish list you go.

Although the clock is officially ticking to finish up Witcher 3 for me, before it becomes 24/7 Cyberpunk 2077!

The Bethesda conference was dogshit.

The front row were giving standing ovations on every "applause" line. If there ever felt like a planted audience, this was it. People whooping and hollering at the first mention of the flaming dumpster fire that is Fallout 76, and then doing the same for the 3 mobile game announcements. lawl.
yeah the applause was very cringey from the employees in the front row. E3 attendees are not for the everyday public or gamer. You either have to be a news journalist of some sort or pay a large ticket price.

Todd knew full well that it be didn't stack the audience with flunkies, he'd get heckled off the stage after his blatant fucking lies of last year.

I think the last time he didn't hype one of their games beyond any sort of reality was maybe Morrowind? Because Internet hype videos weren't really a thing yet? I don't remember how his magazine interviews went...

He certainly seems to know how to win with the peoples though. I can barely imagine the sales numbers for the next TES.

And? What's wrong with that? They were like YOU and your endless shilling for even the dumbest shit EA games. Same thing!

Yes. The front row were Bethesda/Zenimax employees cheering on their studio mates. So what.
Besides, Howard admitted right there on stage that FO76 had a crap launch and that they fucked it up.

As for the Doom footage it looks pretty good for a simpleton shoot'em up game. It's 2019 and ever since Half-Life The First I very much prefer a little more depth to my shooters and maybe even an actual story but Doom Eternal is still a definite buy once it drops to $20 or so.
These simpleton games are great to play alongside text-heavy RPGs like Torment for when you need a complete change of theme and scenery.
Beavis and Butthead gaming at its finest. Uhhh... boom... huhuhuh... boom... d000000d... BOOOOOOOOM.... uuuuhhhh... huhuhuhuhhuhuhuhuhuhuh...

The gameplay looks so awesome that I immediately felt too old for this game. I would have loved to play it 20 or even 25 years ago when my reflexes were still great. Nowadays, I tend to run, hide, and shoot in these games because I cannot run and gun effectively anymore.

But, of course, I will be buying and playing it! It's Doom and looks amazing, so I am in.

This is why difficulty levels are so great!
I played on the second hardest for the original, if I recall. I had some frustrating moments but was fine. Went back to replay on Nightmare (not Ultra-Nightmare, though I did a level of that), but replaying sucked, since you could no longer save mid-level.

I never bothered with Multiplayer, since my reactions are slower and I don't have time to "git gud." So weird that we got endless multiplayer content but not single player expansions.
