FromSoftware/George R.R. Martin Game Details Leak?

Game Informer has what are thought to be details on the upcoming FromSoftware/George R.R. Martin collaboration they report were uploaded by Bandai Namco before being found by 4Chan users. This is unconfirmed, but they have a logo showing the game will be titled Elden Ring. They also have the following details that the suspect will be part of an E3 announcement:
"ELDEN RING, developed by FromSoftware, Inc. and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc., is a fantasy action-RPG adventure set within a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki – creator of the influential DARK SOULS video game series; and George R.R. Martin – author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire," the description reads. "Danger and discovery lurk around every corner in FromSoftware’s largest game to-date. Hidetaka Miyazaki, President and Game Director of FromSoftware Inc. known for directing critically-acclaimed games in beloved franchises including Armored Core, Dark Souls, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice..." the description ends half-finished.

I think at this point it's blatantly obvious that GRRM is *actively* trying to avoid finishing ASOIF.

Meh. Maybe some things are better left unfinished. Let George get p-p-p-paaaaid doing this crap, I'm sure the money per hour of effort is worth it with minimal risk. It feels like he owes us those last books but I imagine legally that is not the case, though the publisher might want the advance back.

Well, fans of the novels(Song of Ice and Fire) who suffered through the last few seasons of Game of Thrones will unfortunately have some of the major plot details already spoiled, even if somehow GRRM survives to finish the novels.

I seriously get the feeling that he has no desire or real plan to finish the novels well, in spite of whatever 'outline' information he gave to the show runners/writers.

Add in the MILLIONS of dollars getting tossed at him for shows and games now, vs comparative chicken feed from the novels... I can't see him mustering up the drive to finish even if he wanted to.

Oh well, another series of novels dies with a fading whimper.

It's a shame but it's happened quite a lot for these epic mult-novel series, honestly.

I have yet to see a good game come out of his books. This does not look to be one either.

Dark Souls + GRRM? I guess killing our favorite characters over and over was not enough for him, he has to kill us over and over now too.

Exactly. And I predict the ending will require a DLC purchase that is rushed and unsatisfying.

I'd really prefer if he were working with CD Projekt Red on this. Dark Souls is about fighting the same damn boss 20x in a row. If that's your thing, then cool, but I just find them and their iterations (Bloodborne, Sekiro, and even The Surge) boring now.

I came here to write exactly that! 100% with you on this. It pisses me off that this imo over-appreciated dev gets this licence. We immediately know what we'll be getting. Zero surprises there. No honest person could say the same if it would've been a dev like CDP.

Sounds familiar.

Yes, it proves that this is a legit GRRM project!
