A 6600K doesn't have hyperthreading. And Microcode slow-downs on Skylake or later are less than 2%. It's everything before that CPU generation that's fucked. Best CPU to own currently is definitely the 8400 There the microcode update has no performance loss, and even the mitigation in the OS only 1%, no hyperthreading yet 6 true cores that can each boost to 4.1ghz.

But it's funny that Intel gained it's performance advantage by making insecure chips. If they fix this I doubt they will compete with AMD anymore
