They write the laws. This is what state capture feels like. Wonder why politics and media seem obsessed with culutre issues? Because all major parties are close enough to being on the same page when it comes to the real important stuff, like selling weapons to authoritarians and channeling capital into fewer hands and keeping the citizens that could stand up to them divided and fighting each other like the steppe tribes of Eurasia were manipulated into doing.
