Ugggg EPIC sucks because it doesn't offer all the features I don't use on steam anyways.
EGS is adding features and will continue to add features.
Competition is a good for everyone.
You don't need two machine to benefit from cloud saves, they're great for backups, especially if something happens to your files. There is even cases now with a game on EGS having it's save files become randomly corrupt, and users are Eff'd unless they randomly back up their files.
Let the hate flow through you.

It's hard to argue with publishers shunning Steam when it leads to crazy numbers like this.
They sold ten times as many copies of Division 2 on Uplay as they did Division 1. That's a lot of money left in their own pocket, and the PC was the only platform in the past year that (substantially) increased its share for Ubisoft.
God, who knows, maybe someday we'll get genuine PC versions again, instead of console po... hahahahahaha I can't even finish that sentence.
I think you missed the point that most of the sales originally came from Steam with D1. When they shunned Steam and went Exclusive to Epic and their own portal. Then its not hard to see the increased sales. Most shied away from Epic in favor of UBIs portal.
No, I didn't miss the point, that is LITERALLY the point. They sold TEN TIMES more on their own store when they shunned Steam. So that's ten times 30% money they keep in their own pocket.
Why wouldn't they do this?

An award for increasing toxicity in the gaming communities? Hell yeah.
Seriously. But who watches game awards shows anyway? Let alone the UK's BAFTA awards.

Started the account deletion process over the weekend for EGS. Finished today. What a shit show.
I don't really love or hate it but all of this nonsense seems like a really desperate and cheap attempt to insert itself into the marketplace without doing any real work to get there. Walled gardens suck, they sucked on consoles and attempting to do it here will have even shittier results. The client itself is a bizarre lack of effort from such a large company and development is proceeding at a snails pace. Competition is good for everyone...when there is actual competition. This sort of nonsense does not translate into lower prices for consumers, just more uptake for publishers.
Also have to LOL at Tim Sweeney trying to position himself as the good guy in this scenario. The same guy who said the industry was doomed because of piracy and refused to release his studios own games on the platform. Sure Tim, you're our savior whatever would we do without your forced exclusivity
