Blood: Fresh Supply Released

Developer Nightdive Studios and publisher Atari offer the release of Blood: Fresh Supply, an updated version of Blood, the first-person shooter developed by Monolith that was first released in 1997. You can get a look at gameplay in the launch trailer and you can pick up a copy of this Windows game through Discord, GOG.com, Humble Store, or Steam. Here are some details:
Originally released in 1997, Blood is a First-Person Shooter that helped redefine the genre and introduced many elements now accepted as commonplace. In the original and the updated Blood: Fresh Supply, players jump into the boots of undead gunslinger Caleb as he seeks revenge against the dark god Chernobog. Caleb’s arsenal features a mix of standard and occult weaponry, which he uses to devastating and gore-filled effect. In the game, players visit a terrifying world populated by hordes of bloodthirsty fiends – including cultists, gargoyles, zombies, hellhounds, and an unholy host of other terrors.

Key Tech Updates and Features of Blood: Fresh Supply include:

  • Vulkan, DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.2 support, play with unlocked framerates!
  • Antialiasing, Ambient Occlusion, V-sync and Interpolation support
  • Support for high resolutions including 4K monitors
  • Fully customizable keyboard and controller pad support
  • Extended modding support, including support for already existing mods
  • Completely rewritten netcode supports up to 8 players:
  • Play online in co-operative mode, kill each other in “Bloodbath” or split the difference in classic 4v4 team-based “Capture The Flag” mayhem
  • Battle it out in local split-screen action
  • Roll your own soundtrack with full CD and MIDI music support
  • Look fully up and down with a new 3D view, or stick with the classic BUILD-engine style!

@ItBurn

Looks like the devs are reading the comments in Steam and replying to some reviewers.
Some of the glitches are on their to-squash list.

Also, and this is off-topic, we need to notify Blue more when a new Daggerfall Unity build is available. The latest one is excellent. The port needs more exposure.

I played it. So far, it's a much better experience than the DosBox version. Way more customization options and features. They also added way more voxel sprites than they let on. There are many small glitches though like blood floating in the air, wrong explosion sprites, less blood, weird physics with slopes, etc. I hope they fix that, but it kinda feels like they're done with it.

Hitscan enemies are still 100% BS though. A small delay to their initial attack would fix everything... I really wonder what we can do with modding. Can things like that be changed?

You know, today was a rotten day. Not going to off myself, but I felt fucking rotten. This made it better. 5 bucks off for existing owners of DOS Blood on Steam shows these devs are a class act.
Love thy wookie.

I wonder if they actually changed the music in the game to the same in the trailer, yuk.
Scorpio Slasher: ... What about you boy, what do hate?
Marcus: ... Bullies. Tiny d*ck egotists who hurt people for no reason, make people lock their doors at night. People who make general existence worse, people like you.

Just use M210´s BloodGDX port. It´s awesome and free.

Can I post a link to it?

Which is better though?

I can already say that it's not a perfect recreation. They often use the wrong explosion sprite which looks weird. Also, explosions kills are way less bloody for some reason.

Yeah.... I thought Blood was okay back in the 90s, no way am I paying money for this version in 2019. Good luck though!

*Note: Not an endorsement of piracy, I mean I personally won't be buying this.

I loved Blood, so I'll be getting it. Got the old version from Gog.com awhile back and it was hard to play with old controls, so I'm hopeful for this one. Also hoping the online community is large enough to sustain some multiplayer.
